  18. <p>     Once upon a time there lived a somewhat nerdy though
  19. mildly attractive prince who enjoyed mountain climbing and
  20. tennis. He was destined to inherit the Japanese throne, yet he
  21. remained discontent. The young man desperately needed to save
  22. himself from a future of lonely nights spent dining on take-out
  23. food and playing the viola. So he searched and searched for a
  24. bride (preferably an outspoken one who could cook well), but
  25. alas, his efforts met with little success. Many of the land's
  26. liberated young women easily rejected the thought of a life
  27. trapped in a palace with a guy who had once studied 18th century
  28. commodity transport. But fear not, this tale has a sweet ending.
  29. Last week, in a move that triggered a Japanese press frenzy,
  30. PRINCE NARUHITO, 32, finally selected a wife. His long,
  31. internationally celebrated quest for a Mrs.--the subject of
  32. intensely controversial media scrutiny--ended with MASAKO
  33. OWADA, a 29-year-old Harvard graduate and member of the Foreign
  34. Ministry who just happens to speak four languages. No word on
  35. a wedding date as yet.
